A Tribute to Russian Snape ArtistsOne of the things that blew my mind when I first came to DA was the number of Russian fan artists here and how incredibly good they are. In Russia the HP and Snape fandom seems to be very active, and it shows.
What I particularly like about the Russian artists is that a) for the most part they are highly skilled, b) often they have very much their own style and c) something about this style strikes me as distinctly European. I might be wrong about that last one, and I can't really pin it down to something in particular, but that's how I feel about it, anyway.
As usual, the hardest part of assembling this journal feature was not *finding* the artwork, but choosing and deciding which ones to display. So, same as with the others, this selection is a bit random, based more on my personal taste than anything else. I've included a few people from Ukraine or Belarus, as well as some whose nationality says something else but who obviously speak Russian.
